颗倒掉的美丽树干

我们教会停车场的中心长着一棵大树,直到这周,一直为车辆提供着巨大树荫,让我们的爱车免受烈日灼烧。 我来这这间教会已经17年了,那棵树就一直在那。对我来说,这树既美丽又健康。但我根本不懂树。上周天去教会的时候,树就躺在地上,树干裂了一个大口子。 我寻思肯定是飓风经过,但实际上是那棵树自己倒了。那些对树有研究的人能从树干里面腐蚀的情况找到原因。其实,这树已经这样好多年了。我当时也很震惊。 这个教训就是你没法通过书的封皮来认识一本书。事情的外在并不总是反应其实质。主在启3:17也说过一样的道理。他在那里对老底嘉教会讲话。他们觉得自己富有,“一无所缺”。我觉得这间教会应该有一些有钱的信徒。因为早期教会都是在家聚集,老底嘉教会可能在信徒的家里聚集,而这些家庭在社区中是受人尊敬的。有可能他们是当地政府的一部分。那是间舒适的教会。 从外在来看,一切都很好。但是主却说这间教会成员是“困苦,可怜,贫穷,瞎眼,赤身的”。他指的是他们的属灵状态。他们很像在停车场的那棵树。从外在观察来看,没法深入了解,教会看起来很棒。观察者应该得出结论,这间教会对老底嘉这座城市有重要的影响力。 但当来到内部,属灵的现实是他们败絮其中。他们是信徒,但却缺少与神的亲密关系。他们没有与神相交。神要让他们除去自己的腐败,从爱世界的罪中回转。他们应该追求一个健康的属灵的状态,与神合一。如若不然,主要把他们从他嘴里吐出去。也就是他们的属灵成熟的状态是让人作呕的。若要继续如此,主会管教他们。他们会成为属灵上无用之人。横卧在我们教会停车场的那棵大树就是他们与神关系亲密程度的最好写照。 这让我想到两点对今天信徒的应用。一间教会可以外在美好。可以是宏伟的建筑,众人的聚集,活跃的青年和音乐场景。但如果没有教导纯正的教义,如果人们没有对这样的教导回应,那只能是外面开起来光鲜,内在早已腐蚀。 类似的情况可能出现在个人景况之中。一位信徒可能参加教会又活跃的其中。但如果他没有对神的话感兴趣,他也就像我们停车场的那棵树。一位信徒也可能是严格的律法主义者,外在展现出成熟的属灵生命。但是却不与神的相交,因为他里面没有被圣灵反转。 我们的情况如何?我们参加的教会如何?我们是像停车场的那棵树一样吗,像老底嘉教会一样?发现外表光鲜的大树本质的真相是有点让人伤感的。当他在基督审判台前查看我们树干内在的时候,让我们求神帮我们远离像那树一般的景况。
