“我一定要下到那些地下通道里去看看!”

我在一所军事学院完成了大学教育。你可以想象,我们有非常多的规章制度。其中一条规定是:学员不得进入校园建筑物下面的地下通道。 我们听过很多关于这些地下通道的传闻。有人说,通道里有一些房间,里面存放着各种东西。还有传言说,我们的一位同学曾在一次滑翔机事故中丧生,而那架失事的滑翔机残骸就被放在地下通道里。据说,在我们脚下埋藏着各种秘密。 通往地下通道的门有很多,但全部都上了锁。校方明确告知我们:一旦有人被发现进入地下通道,就会被开除学籍。 我不知道这些传闻是否属实,但我清楚一件事——我一定要下到那些地下通道里去看看。 我和另外三名学员一起,找到了一扇看起来比较容易撬开的门。一天深夜,我们悄悄离开宿舍,把锁撬开,成功进入了地下通道。里面有许多房间可以探索。我们连续三晚熬夜,在校园地下四处行走,终于满足了我们的好奇心。 结果却令人非常失望。我们没有找到坠毁的滑翔机,只看到一堆校内运动器材和标准配发的军用装备。 如果当时我们被抓到,我敢肯定,学院的领导并不会真的把我们开除。他们大概只会嘲笑我们有多愚蠢——仅仅因为“被禁止”,就花这么大代价去做一件事。我非常确定:如果他们当初没有告诉我“不能进去”,我根本不会冒险下到地下通道。 要想真正阻止我,他们只需要在通往地下通道的门上挂一个霓虹灯牌,上面写着一句话:“任何想进去的人都可以进去,门是开着的。” 我并不是唯一有这种心态的人。保罗曾指出,一条诫命反而会在我们里面激发各种邪恶的欲望(罗 7:8)。在谈到摩西律法时,保罗说,像“不可贪恋”这样的诫命,可能会刺激并引发人里面原本就存在的罪欲(赞恩·霍奇斯,《恩典新约注释-罗马书》,第322页)。 很多时候,这是因为骄傲。至少对我来说就是如此。当有人告诉我“你不能穿过那些上锁的门”时,我几乎会拼命想要闯进去。那些军官凭什么告诉我,我不能知道自己脚下二十英尺处有什么?他们在向我隐瞒什么?为什么他们可以知道通道里有什么,而我却不行? 我知道,在这方面,我可能比99%的人都更糟。大多数人比我理智得多。但保罗说,我们所有人都有这个问题。我们的肉体并不擅长回应命令。这也是为什么,一张“行为清单”并不能产生真正的敬虔。 你可以称之为堕落的本性,或者用任何你喜欢的词来形容,但事实是:我们无法靠自己的力量顺服神。我们天生就会反抗祂所说的话。 因此,我们必须在里面的人上被圣灵更新、改变(罗 7:22;12:1–2;林后 4:16)。必须是祂在我们里面活出来。这是我们唯一能讨神喜悦的方式。 当我19岁的时候,我在顺服命令这件事上挣扎得很厉害。学院的权威有充分的理由禁止我们进入地下通道,我本该顺服。希望如今的我已经更成熟、更有属灵的智慧。 如果今天再遇到同样的情况,我会如何回应呢?我希望我会求主赐给我智慧和力量去顺服——但老实说,我也不能完全确定。
