Grief

How to Grieve as Those Who Have Hope (1 Thess 4:13-18)

February 19, 2024 by Bob Wilkin in Blog - 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Grief

Christmas Memories

December 21, 2023 by Ken Yates in Blog - 1 Thess 4:13, Death, Grief, Second Coming
In my younger days I often heard stories about how Christmas was a sad time for many people in our churches. The season brought back memories of loved ones who were no longer alive. Those left behind felt lonely, and Christmas was no longer the joyous time it used to be. I have heard of

On December 19, 2018, Sharon, my wife of 42 years, went in for a fairly routine surgery to remove a football-size benign ovarian cyst. It turns out that the cyst was filled with cancer. And then the cyst burst and spread the cancer. Since then Sharon has had five chemo treatments. The first four lasted

In the Midst of Trials

December 31, 2018 by Bob Wilkin in Blog - 2 Corinthians 5:9-10, Cancer, Grief, Suffering, Surgery
My wife of 42 years, Sharon Dallas Wilkin, went in on Dec 19 to have a large ovarian cyst removed. All the tests indicated that it was benign. Here is a short catalog of some of the trials since then. We had to wait four extra hours (6 total) before the surgery started. The three-hour
