Mostrar graça é irresponsável?

February 8, 2022 by Shawn Lazar in Graça sem limites - Grace, Lot, prodigal son, Zahl
A história de Ló me lembra a história do filho pródigo.

Do You Obsess Over Your Guilt?

February 8, 2022 by Shawn Lazar in Blog - Grace, guilt
“Guilt is universal,” wrote Paul Tournier, a Christian psychiatrist (Tournier, Guilt and Grace, p. 152). And according to him, you can do one of two things with that guilt: you can either repress it or recognize it. Repressing your guilt “leads to anger, rebellion, fear and anxiety, a deadening of conscience, an increasing inability to

Is Showing Grace Irresponsible?

January 13, 2022 by Shawn Lazar in Blog - Grace, Lot, prodigal son, Zahl
The story of Lot reminds me of the story of the prodigal son. You’ll remember that Lot was Abraham’s nephew and had followed his uncle to the Promised Land. Both men grew rich, so much so that the land could not support both their herds, and their respective cowboys were getting into fights. Something had

Uma Alta Doutrina da Graça

December 2, 2021 by Shawn Lazar in Graça sem limites - Antinomianismo, Grace, Michael Eaton
Todas as outras religiões do mundo, e a

A High Doctrine of Grace

October 18, 2021 by Shawn Lazar in Blog - antinomianism, Grace, Michael Eaton
I love being accused of giving people a license to sin. True, that’s a serious misunderstanding of my position. However, it’s a misunderstanding that arises when someone realizes what I’m saying about the freeness of eternal life. They don’t make that mistake about other religions! Every other religion in the world, and most of the

Paul Rejected Salvation by Non-Meritorious Works

October 6, 2021 by Shawn Lazar in Blog - Grace, non-meritorious works, Works
Some works-salvation teachers will try to soften—or obscure!—their message by saying that doing good works is necessary for salvation, but those works are not meritorious. In their view, requiring works for salvation becomes a problem only if you think you can earn your way into heaven. Is that a possible Biblical position? Consider what Paul

Christian Liberty, Falling from Grace, Gal 5:4, Grace, legalism, Receiving Grace
In our last episode of Grace in Focus radio, we heard Bob and Shawn discuss the term "grace." Today they are continuing this conversation by giving special attention to Galatians 5:4. What does it mean in this passage when it says some of the Galatians were falling from grace? Does this passage mean that we can lose our salvation? These and many more questions will be discussed on the show. We hope you join us as we unpack this important word.
