Did Jesus Ever Call Himself God? Also: Does the Word “Life” in Greek take on Different Meanings in the Gospels Due to the Intent of the Authors?
Deut 19:17, Exod 21:6, Exod 22:9, Hermeneutics, Intent, Jas 1:18., Jas 2:14, John 10:34-37, John 20:31, John 5:24, Judges, Judgment, Matt 19:29, Ps 82:6
Welcome to Grace in Focus radio. Today, Bob and Ken will answer 2 questions from listeners. Some say that Jesus never claimed to be Deity. But here He claimed to be God and the Son of God. He proved it by His works and by many other proofs. There is also a discussion on how the teaching intent of a book of the Bible impacts the understanding of the book. Join Bob Wilkin and Ken Yates for this important and interesting discussion.

The Meaning and Application of Deuteronomy 30:15-19
1 Pet 1:21 Choice, 2 Cor 5:2-4, 2 Tim 3:16, Choose Blessing, Cursing, Death, Deut 30:14-19, Inspiration, Life, peace, Rom 6:23, Rom 8:6, Scripture
Welcome to Grace in Focus radio. This episode is the conclusion to the Deuteronomy series. As Moses is about to die, he tells this generation, about to enter the land, “You’re going into the land, and here are your options.” The options were “life and good,” or “death and evil.” These choices are not about Heaven and Hell, but about here and now. And therefore, once again we see the applicability of this Ancient OT book to you and me. What choices! Which will you choose? We are sure this is a discussion you will find helpful, interesting and very much in support of free-grace theology.

The Meaning and Application of Deuteronomy 29:29
2 Pet 1:3, 2 Tim 3:16, Deut 29:18, Deut 29:9-15, Duet 29:29, Heb 12:15, Revealed Things, Root of Bitterness, Secret Things, Wormwood
Welcome to Grace in Focus radio. Today, continuing in Deuteronomy, Bob Wilkin and Ken Yates look at a passage that often gets misused, Deuteronomy 29:29. There are often claims of “secret knowledge” in Christianity today. We should be very careful about how we regard others who may say, “God speaks to me...”; “What is God saying to you?”; “Special Knowledge” etc., having implications such as, “This is something God has told me, but you don’t know about it...I have an inside track with God.” This can be a form of superiority, mysticism or even sorcery, actually. Everything that Israel needed and everything that we need to be blessed, satisfied and rightly related to God, has been revealed in God’s Word. We have it already! We need not look elsewhere or be on a quest for some other special secret! We hope you join Bob Wilkin and Ken Yates as they have this timely conversation about the meaning of this important verse.

Here, God is warning the Jews about to enter the Promised Land about false prophets, false teachers, and idols which are still all around us today, and therefore these warnings can be applied today also. We hope you will join us as we consider this passage from Deuteronomy.

The Meaning and Application of Deuteronomy 8:1-5
Commands, Deut 8:1-5, False Prophets, God's Word, God’s Sufficiency, idols, Promised Land, Remember, Trusting God
Welcome to Grace in Focus radio. Today Ken Yates and Bob Wilkin look at another key passage in the structure of Deuteronomy 8:1-5. Here, God is exhorting a new generation of Jews to not forget God, to not forget His word, His commands, nor His provisions as they go into the promised Land. There are warnings about what will happen if they do not remember Him. All of this is still applicable and an important word to us today. Please don’t miss this conversation!

Deuteronomy 6:3-9–What is the Meaning and Application? Part 02
Binding Scripture, Blessing, Curse, Deut 6:3-9, Eph 6:1-3, example, Generational, Remembering God, Rom 12:2, Teaching Children
Welcome to Grace in Focus radio. Today, Bob and Ken will continue from the last episode, their look at Deuteronomy 6:3-9. This is called the “Shema” and is probably the most important of the Old Testament scriptures to any religious Jewish person. But it is also quite important to Christians as a guide to God’s blessing in our experience. Jesus Himself taught from this Old Testament passage. Join Bob Wilkin and Ken Yates for this important and interesting discussion.
