罪的工价

细心研读上帝话语的学者们曾向我指出罪的致命后果。大多数福音派人士认为,罪会使人坠入火湖。这种说法并不准确。一个人被投入火湖,根本原因在于他们不信耶稣能赐永生(约3:16;5:24)。然而,罪的严重性不容忽视——它足以招致死亡(罗6:23;雅1:13-15)。

这里的“死亡”可指肉体的消亡,但其影响远不止于此。我们的罪会引发疾病,总会带来混乱、属灵生命的枯竭、上帝的管教以及永恒奖赏的丧失。罪所触及的一切,皆遭毁灭。鲍勃·威尔金(Bob Wilkin)曾用二十一点赌局的发牌手作比喻:当我们犯罪时,就像对发牌人说“再给我一张牌”,而对方回应:“当然!这张是死亡之牌。”

恩典福音协会(GES)的同道们对此类圣经教导应当并不陌生。最近,我注意到罪还会以另一种方式向我们发放“死亡之牌”——这再次印证了罪在今生带来的负面连锁反应。我们或许潜意识里有所察觉,却少有直言。

《箴言》28:1写道:“恶人虽无人追赶也逃跑,义人却胆壮如狮子。”此处的“恶人”与“义人”并非分别指不信者与信徒,而是指不同的生活方式——信徒既可能活出恶,也可能活出义。

经文指出,行恶之人即便无人追捕也会逃窜。为何如此?因为良心有愧。他惧怕恶行败露,终日疑神疑鬼,活在恐惧中,夜不能寐,时刻提防有人窥破其隐秘勾当。

试想一位深陷奸淫的基督徒领袖,会时常怀疑:妻子会发觉吗?手机里会留下证据被家人看到吗?情妇的丈夫会察觉吗?这事将如何摧毁他的声誉、职业?离婚的代价有多大?

这种状态对健康的摧残堪称致命。若涉及他人丈夫,甚至可能招致杀身之祸!奸淫绝非唯一带来恶果的罪,世间遍布着各类“致命”陷阱。

而活出义的信徒则全无此类困扰。他们可以如狮子般昂首而行,无所畏惧。狮子不会因真实或假想的敌人退缩,这个比喻正是描述清白良心带来的坦然——不必回头张望,不必担心愤怒的配偶揭穿自己的罪行。

电视里的狮子总在安睡,这恰是义人生命安宁的写照。狮子毫无惧怕,信徒的永生也永不失落。但罪却能在当下引发无数祸患,其中就包括良心的谴责。即便罪行今生未被揭穿,仅这份愧疚感已远超过犯罪所得的“报酬”。

我宁愿作一头随处安卧、安然入眠的狮子。
