The Whole World Needs Everlasting Life

The Whole World Needs Everlasting Life

August 7, 2020 by Bob Wilkin in Blog - a vision for world evangelization, John 3:16

The most important issue in this life is one’s eternal destiny. Whether we gain everlasting life and spend eternity with the Lord is of eternal significance.

As a ministry, Grace Evangelical Society exists to proclaim the free gift of everlasting life to whoever simply believes in the Lord Jesus Christ (John 3:16; 5:24) and the related yet distinct truth that the Lord will judge each believer for the work he has done in this life (Luke 19:16-26; 1 Cor 9:24-27; 2 Cor 5:9-10; 1 John 2:28). The purpose of the judgment of believers will be to determine their eternal rewards.

We as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ should be concerned about the eternal destiny of everyone.

Did you know that when college students are quizzed about countries in Africa, the average student can only list four? There are fifty-four countries in Africa. Believers ought to able to list at least forty. There are one hundred and ninety-seven total countries. Can you name most of them?

Several years ago, Shawn challenged me to a quiz called Countries of the World. We get fifteen minutes to type in as many countries as we can. The spelling must be correct.

At first, I could only get eighty or ninety countries. Over time, I was able to get 150 or more.

Shawn’s best has been 195. My best has been 180. Yesterday we played for the first time in months. I got 150. Shawn got 181.

Knowing the countries of the world potentially heightens your compassion for those peoples. Knowing the name of the nations you are praying for is important. I am glad that Shawn has me thinking globally. Are you?
