A Tough Week

A Tough Week

April 8, 2017 by Bob Wilkin in Blog
My week ended Monday at 3:00. I went home with nausea and headache. I went to bed, hoping that I’d be well Tuesday morning.
My sleep Monday night was very troubled.
Tuesday morning my hope to go back to work was gone.
I had chills, headache, stomach ache, diarrhea, no appetite, and dehydration.
All day either in bed or laying in recliner. So sick I couldn’t bear to read or even watch TV.
Surely I’d be well after another night’s sleep. Wrong. After another fitful night’s sleep I woke up sicker than ever.
Sharon got me into my doctor Wednesday. He told me I had a stomach bug and I that I was so dehydrated that if I didn’t start drinking lots of fluids, I’d have to go the emergency room an get an IV on Thursday.
Though I felt terrible, I started pushing fluids. This led to much worse diarrhea and a first for me in my life I needed Depends.
I hadn’t eaten but a few pieces of toast and some oats in days. Surely Thursday I’d be OK.
Another fitful night’s sleep. Still no appetite. Sharon met my every need every day.
I went to bed Thursday night and prayed with Sharon for healing. We’d been praying every day for that. Maybe this would be the night.
It was. My sleep was different. I’d been getting up 6 to 8 times a night to go to the bathroom. Thursday night I only got up once. When I woke up this morning I felt different. I was hungry! Thank you, Lord.
It’s now 2PM. I’m still not right. It is all I can do to write this. But I’m on the way back. And I’m so thankful. Thanks to all of you who prayed for me.
