Walang Kabanalan, Walang Langit?

Pagsikapan ninyong magkaroon ng kapayapaan sa lahat at ng kabanalan na kung wala nito’y walang sinumang makakakita sa Panginoon” (Hebreo 12:14). May ilang naniniwalang ang may-akda ng Hebreo ay nagsasabing kailangan nating maabot ang isang tiyak na antas ng kabanalan upang makapasok sa kaharian. Ngunit ito ay imposible sa dalawang kadahilanan. Una, ipinangako ng Panginoong Jesus ang buhay na walang hanggan sa lahat na nanampalataya lamang sa Kaniya (Juan 3:16; 5:24; 6:35-40, 47; 11:25-27). Pangalawa, ang kabigua’y posible sa buhay Cristiano (Gawa 5:1-11; 1 Cor 9:24-27; 11:30; Heb 12:15).

Ang sinasabi ng Hebreo ay ating pagsikapan natin ngayon ang anumang magigi nating kalagayan magpakailan pa man (1 Juan 3:2).

Siyempre, kung sa halip na pagsikapang magkaroon ng kapayapaan at kabanalan, ang mga mananampalataya ay maaaring sibulan ng kapaitan (Heb 12:15). Ang mga ito ay hindi matatamo ang ating karapatan bilang mga anak, ang magharing kasama ni Cristo bilang Kaniyang kasama (12:16-17; cf. 1:9; 3:14). Pagsikapan nating ngayon kung ano ang makabubuti sa atin nang lubos magpakailan pa man.
