Why We’re Offering Vacation Bible School May 18-21 at Our Annual Conference

February 17, 2026 by Bob Wilkin in Blog - National Conference

This year, at the GES 2026 National Conference (May 18–21), we are offering VBS for kids from 5-10 years old. We’re not simply offering childcare. GES is seeking an intentional, thoughtful, and deeply theological full VBS experience designed specifically for the next generation of Free Grace leaders. Katie Walker is heading up VBS this year. She has recruited many volunteers who will help with crafts and recreational activities.

The Theme: Crowns in the Kingdom

Each day we will explore one of the crowns mentioned in Scripture:

  • The Crown of Life
  • The Crown of Righteousness
  • The Crown of Glory
  • The Imperishable Crown
  • The Crown of Rejoicing

Through age-appropriate lessons, stories, crafts, and games, children will learn a crystal-clear distinction:

Eternal life is a free gift received by faith alone. Rewards are future recognition given for faithfulness, endurance, and service.

Many believers do not encounter this distinction until adulthood, if ever.

What the Week Looks Like
