Word Studies
Bible Study–Word Studies
Word studies are an important part of effective Bible study. Depending on the context, words can have different meanings. If you come across a word in your daily reading, you should check an interlinear Bible to see what the meaning in Greek is. Listen to Bob and Shawn's excellent discussion on word studies and their helpful suggestions.

Typology and Types in the Bible
Bible Typology, Origen–The Father of Allegory
Have you heard of Origen, the Father of Allegory? Bob and Shawn discussed the Allegorical Method of Bible study yesterday, proving that it was not an accurate way. We should be cautious with how we view types in Scripture. We need to allow the Word to speak to us in the Grammatical Historical context in which it was written.

The Grammatical Historical Method
Bible Genres, Prophetic Books
In yesterday's program, Bob and Shawn discussed the different genres included in the Bible. Today they mention one more–eschatological books, or prophetic books. These books make up a quarter of the Bible! So when we study the Bible, we need to do so in a Grammatical Historical way. What does that mean? Listen to Bob and Shawn's excellent discussion to find out.

God Wants Us to Study the Bible
2 Tim 3:15-17, Psalm 119, Psalm 119:105
We start a new series this week titled "How to Study the Bible". God has asked us to study His word; see Psalm 119 for proof. We need to search the Scriptures to give us assurance of what we believe. Let us all be Bereans!

Does it Matter Which Version of the Bible I Use?
Article: Seven Leading English Bible Translations, Repentance
Bob wrote an article in Grace in Focus magazine titled "Seven Leading English Bible Translations" where he gives excellent analysis of seven of the translations out there. You can view part 1 of the article here. Which version is the best? Plus, isn't repentance part of the gospel and what about sin? Jesus took care of the sin problem but we need to repent to be in full fellowship with Him. Bob and Shawn discuss these great questions in today's broadcast.

What is the Role of Good Works?
1 John 2:3-5, Assurance, Eph 2:10
According to Ephesians 2, we have been prepared to do good works, corporately. What would our motivation for good works be if we thought we need to do them to retain our salvation or to prove our salvation? Because of the assurance of our salvation, we can confidently live a successful Christian life. Listen to Bob and Shawn's excellent discussion today.

Are We Guaranteed to Be With God in Eternity?
1 Cor 6:9-11, Article: Christians Who Lose Their Legacy, Bible Vice Lists, Eph 5:5-7, Gal 5:19-21
In Gal 5:19-21, does it say that if believers continue to practice the list of works in the passage, they will not be with God in eternity? What is the difference between being with God and inheriting the Kingdom of God? We are justified by faith apart from works but that is just the beginning of living the Christian life. Listen to Bob and Shawn's great discussion on justification and living by the Fruit of the Spirit.

Believers can have periods in their lives where they would be labeled as "ungodly". Does that mean the "ungodly" people as mentioned in Psalm 1 are believers or could they be those that are unsaved? Bob and Shawn discuss this great question in today's broadcast.
