Libreng Hangin O Mainit Na Hangin?

Tingnan mo ang kalatas na ito. Ayon dito, “Libreng hangin. $0.25”

Nakita ninyo ba ang problema? Hindi lahat oo. Ang gumawa ng kalatas hindi niya nakita. Para sa kaniya ito ay lohikal na kaisipan.

Aaminin ko na ang 25 centavos ay napakamura para sa hangin- hindi ko mawari na ito ay mabebenta nang bababa pa sa $1.25 sa aming lugar. Ngunit ito ba ay libre?

Sana alam mo na, “Siyempe hindi! Kung may bayad ang hangin, hindi ito libre.”

Mismo.

Ngunit ang puntong ito ay hindi naiintindihan ng marami sa mga nagpapakilalang Ebangheliko. Sasabihin nila na ang kaligtasan ay libre pagkatapos agad nilang dadagdagan na kailangan mong sumunod upang maligtas, hindi nila nakikita ang kabalintunaan!

Ngunit iyan ay kapareho ng problema ng “libreng” hangin na may halagang $0.25- kung ang gawa ay kailangan para maligtas, hindi ito libre, tama?

Paano nila maiiwasan ang kabalintunaang ito?

Minsan aaminin nila na humihingi sila ng gawa sa kaligtasan ngunit ito’y kanilang pagagaanin na ang mga ito ay hindi nagmemerito ng kaligtasan.

Ha?

Sa tingin ko ang “merito” ay isang “walang saysay” na salita sa mga ganitong usapan i. e., wala itong pinapaliwanag. Ano ba ang pagkakaiba ng pagbabayad ng baryang “may merito” sa baryang “walang merito”? Alin man sa dalawa, nagbayad ka pa rin!

Ganuon din naman, kung humihingi ka ng gawa para sa kaligtasan, hindi mahalaga kung ang mga gawang ito ay “may merito” o wala- ang mahalaga ay hiningi ang mga ito. Alin man sa dalawa, kailangan mo pa ring gumawa. At ito ay kabalintunaan ng nakapagliligtas na mensahe. Ayon kay Pablo, ang buhay na walang hanggan ay regalo, i.e., ito ay libre:

“Sapagka’t ang kabayaran ng kasalanan ay kamatayan; datapuwa’t ang kaloob na walang bayad ng Dios ay buhay na walang hanggan kay Cristo Jesus na Panginoon natin” (Roma 6:23).

Huwag mong hayaang presyuhan ng iba ang iyong libreng regalo!

Kung mayroong sumubok, sabihin mong puno siya ng mainit na hangin.
