One Mediator, Two Directions

One Mediator, Two Directions

October 1, 2018 by Shawn Lazar in Blog - mediation, Mediator, Prayer, Salvation

For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (1 Tim 2:5).

Jesus is the Mediator, and His mediation works in two directions.

First, Jesus mediates God to you. You do not “see” the Father’s glory directly, but through Christ:

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth (John 1:14).

Jesus said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father ‘? (John 14:9).

Second, Jesus mediates you to God. You cannot go to the Father directly. You must go through Christ:

for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father (Eph 2:18).

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).

Are you groping in the dark for God? Do you long to know Him? Do you wonder if He hears you when you pray?

Then go to Jesus.

He is the only “place” where God will meet you and where you can meet God.
